With most of the businesses worldwide now resorting to the work from home scheme, demand has grown for some reliable and secure team communication tools. While some of these apps are more open and easy to use for general purposes like catching up with friends and colleagues, there are some that are focussed more on the corporates. One such application is Microsoft’s very own ‘Microsoft Teams’.
By definition, Microsoft Teams is a proprietary business communication platform developed by Microsoft, as part of the Microsoft 365 family of products. One can compare it with similar peer software like Slack or Skype for Business, but Microsoft has given this, a lot of useful features and functionalities, that make it, a go-to for organizations around the world.
When you are hosting a meeting on behalf of your company, or the company you work for, you may be required to do so with a custom background behind you. Like most other video conferencing apps, Microsoft Teams allows you to apply background effects to your meeting window, and in this tutorial, we will show you how you can get it done with ease.
Step 1. Start the Meeting you are going to host. This will open the meeting window.
Step 2. From the toolbar, click on the ‘More Actions‘ button.
Step 3. Now, from the dropdown menu, click on the ‘Apply Background Effects‘ option.
Step 4. You will now see a bunch of pre-installed background plates that you can apply to your window. However, if you are trying to apply a custom background plate, just click on the ‘Add New‘ button.
Step 5. Browse for the background image you want to apply and then click on the ‘Open‘ button to load it into the Microsoft Teams app.
The background image will now be added to the list of options, and you can now preview the image and of it suits the requirement, you can click on the ‘Apply and Turn On Video‘ button to confirm the changes.
